Design Services
The creative process is a fun and rewarding outlet. I work closely with a client to align a WordPress website design with brand identity and standards, business needs, budget, and future strategy. Websites should be flexible and accommodate growth. It’s really what Google expects and rewards websites that meet optimized standards for performance and truly customer-centric content. I don’t usually write website content but can recommend several copywriters if you don’t plan to write it all yourself. I run all website content through our integrated Grammarly Pro to catch spelling and critical grammatical errors.
WordPress Design Projects:
New WordPress Website
Starting from a level field or when an existing website has nothing salvageable, a brand new bespoke WordPress site is designed and developed solely by Creative by Clark. Whether a simple or complex site, I integrate the visual design — incorporating software tools to enable necessary functions. Websites are built with the idea that they will ultimately evolve, and I discuss these issues during our discovery process. It’s common for clients to have me design and launch their websites in phases. WordPress provides a versatile platform for desired change, whether it’s a question of budget or that the business needs to develop in tandem with the next phase of the website. I incorporate my Development skills to create desired functionality as well as the visual look and feel. I occasionally engage third-party developer specialists to address my scheduling and skills bandwidth.
Convert to WordPress
I have considerable experience converting websites built on other CMS (Content Management Systems) such as Drupal, Wix, Weebly, Joomla!, Squarespace, Shopify, and many others to the WordPress platform. I can replicate or preserve aspects of visual design the client wants to retain or start fresh. Considerable technical aspects of conversions cross over into my development skillsets.
Refresh or Rebuild
Already have a WordPress website? Not happy with the performance, look and feel, or simply need a refresh to make the site more contemporary? I recommend creating a clone of an existing website in a staging environment on your server to avoid directly impacting your production site. I’ll conduct detailed discovery and formulate a new visual design and structure — adding new functionality as desired. Sometimes a refresh is minor whilst there are times when only small portions of an existing website and its content are usable.
Some Recent Design Projects
Creative by Clark originated the design of these projects.
IPCEA – New
The IPCEA website provides brand visibility for an amazing organization where American physicians train Family Practice/Primary Care Physicians in China. Previous to this website build, the organization had a single page on a partner website that was difficult to find. The IPCEA website now provides a beautiful mechanism to share their mission with the general public and recruit volunteer physicians for future training trips. There is a considerably sophisticated member-only area for the IPCEA Board to share proprietary information with their physician and healthcare members.
Fratello & Amico – Rebuild
Many years ago, I converted the Fratello & Amico website from a very non-compliant static HTML version to a slightly more compliant XHMTL in Dreamweaver (our historical development platform for static websites). As my focus shifted totally to WordPress, the website was converted as a gift to my loyal client. That original WordPress site essentially replicated a stale visual design, and the client had no time to provide new images. I redesigned the website for a more contemporary look and feel but had to get creative as I still haven’t received larger high-quality images.
Cultivate Success Consulting – New
Katie Chew, Principal/Owner of Cultivating Success Consulting, is a very experienced marketing professional who reached out to m to build her website when she decided to grow her business. The website provides a robust framework to add materials for access via Calls to Action. It also integrates a sophisticated Appointment Calendar application that uses a front-end Gravity Form that syncs directly with a third-party app. The website is built to grow and will likely monetize some future premium content and include thought leadership articles.
